Rhythm surrounds us – sometimes coursing just under the surface of our daily existence, at other times bursting into the forefront through music, dance, and other art forms. Visual art has a unique capacity to evoke rhythm even when static. For this ARTS Southeast Supporter Call for Entry Exhibition, artists were invited to share good vibrations through photography, painting, printmaking, mixed media and more. For some, this meant tapping into natural cycles: for Oliver Smith, the path of the sun; for Ashley Jones, the phases of the moon. For others, it meant observing the rhythm of objects, as in Ivy Laurel Anderson and Heather Szatzmary’s contoured forms. Projecting both outward on the landscape and inward toward our own bodies, Good Vibrations takes the pulse of our artistic community.
ACORN (2024)
Acorn emerges as a captivating fusion of abstract, vivid-color photography and sculptural design.
Through a harmonious interplay of vibrant hues and intricate forms, this piece encapsulates the essence of nature's vitality and growth, mirroring the event's celebration of floral beauty and artistic expression.
Each photograph is meticulously manipulated, edited and crafted to evoke a sense of wonder and exploration. Its sculptural appearance not only adds depth and dimension but also symbolizes the transformative power of art, resonating with the fundraiser's mission to cultivate community engagement and support for the arts. As the viewer immerses themselves in the radiating tapestry of colors and shapes, they become part of a collective narrative that nurtures creativity and cultivates a flourishing cultural landscape.
